Stretching is a great thing that you can do even in bed. (However I would recommend getting off the bed and then do it.) A simple stretched-out-legs-and-arms-overhead movement can help you achieve the benefits of stretching. After a long inactivity during sleep, your body has just been booted down for hours–you can’t expect it to be warmed up, energized, and raring to go right away. Stretching helps you in getting ready for the day.
